1. What should my child wear to class?

Shorts and T-shirts are fine. Girls can wear leotards, but they are not required to. These can be purchased in our on-site Pro-Shop or at places like Walmart, Target or Meijer. The kids go into the gym barefoot so you don't have to worry about special gym shoes. No belts or jewelry and kids with long hair should pull it back into a ponytail. Also not street clothes such as jean shorts etc.

  2. How qualified are your instructors certified?

Our instructors have gymnastics backgrounds and have been through a training program at CGA. They are also safety certified and have CPR training.

  3. How do the kids advance to the next level?

At each level, there are certain skills that have to be mastered before a child can advance to the next level. We have evaluation sheets that we hand out at the end of the sessions I-IV. The instructor is the person who makes the decision to move a child to the next level. They will sign that form to show that the child is moving up. They may even approach a parent after class and let them know that they recommend the child move up. If you ever have any questions, please approach the instructor after class or give them a call. They will be happy to speak with you.

  4. What is an invite class?

An invite class is a class for more advanced students to attend. Participation is by invitation only and that invitation is extended only by instructors.

  5. Where is Columbus Gymnastics Academy?

We are located in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. We are midway between Brice Road and St. Rt. 256 on Tussing Road. You will want to look for Schwebel's Bakery Outlet. We share the same driveway with them. They have a red sign on the road. If you pull into their drive, just follow the lane back. We are directly behind them. We have a white building with a blue awning and a blue sign.

  6. Is Columbus Gymnastics a competition gym?

No, we are not a competitive gym. We are a recreational facility committed to giving your child their first introduction to the wonderful world of gymnastics. We have progressive curriculum that is designed to challenge your child at each level. We do have classes through the advanced level.

  7. What if my child has to miss a class?

Each student has the opportunity to schedule (2) makeup classes within the session they are enrolled. These makeup classes must be scheduled in advance. To do that, simply call the office and request a makeup. Your child will be assigned a class time different from their normal time.
